Establishing Farms

Liberians that live in remote areas are used to one meal of rice a day with a little sauce on top.  Being hungry is the norm for the people.  But Project Liberia is working hard to help villagers establish farms.  The crops of these farms will be replanted in succession using the seeds saved from the previous year, and farms in subsequent villages will also be started with seeds saved from established farms.

Project Liberia is distributing tools, boots, and seeds to farmers along with agricultural  training for good sustainable land management.  All of this is made possible with the support from our gracious partners.

Animals (chickens, pigs, goats, turkeys, ducks, and Guinea fowl) are also being distributed along with supplies to build pens, animal feed for the first several weeks, and lessons on animal husbandry.  These animal farms will provide protein through meat and eggs.
