Evangelism

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus gave this command: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19 NIV

Since our founding in 2017, Project Liberia has engaged with Liberians in many different ways to share the gospel. This has resulted in more than 1,100 baptisms. This number is growing at an increasing rate as more leaders are trained and more churches are planted.

1,100 Baptisms … and counting!

As Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus: “So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. Ephesians 2:19-20 NLT

Our first church was planted in 2018. As that congregation grew and the leadership and members became more energized for Jesus, they began sharing their new faith with neighboring villages and additional churches were soon formed. We have adopted the name Liberian Christian Bible Church to denote all of the churches formed in this way. New churches progress through three stages of maturity, beginning as an Emerging church, maturing into an Established church, then sharing their faith by planting new churches as a Reproducing church. The following chart shows the number of LCBC congregations in each stage of development year by year, with a total of 36 churches as of October 2026.
